The Toronto Blue Jays are calling up infield prospect Charles McAdoo, a source tells ESPN. A 13th-round pick in 2023, McAdoo has played first, second and third base this season, when he has hit .250/.356/.436 with eight home runs and 27 RBIs at Triple-A.

@Endeavours57949 @Damon98_ Unless I'm missing something, I really don't understand. The #BlueJays will need to have at least one who INF can play 2B besides Gimenez and Clement. They can decide on Schneider, Kasevich or Sosa. Lukes/Barger issue exists whether they replace Sosa with Kasevich or not.

Lenyn Sosa has a .531 OPS across 88 plate appearances in 2026. His -0.5 fWAR would rank him 286th out of 297 qualified hitters with at least 80 plate appearances. I have no idea why he's still on the roster.

@mo2rose @Damon98_ Yes. Kasevich comes up and replaces Sosa. Fine. Barger comes back and lets say Schneider goes down. Fine. What do you when Lukes comes off IL? Send down pinango or Kasevich? Sending down Kasevich would defeat the purpose of calling him up in the first place....

@Endeavours57949 @Damon98_ How's that a problem and how is keeping Sosa a soloution? They'd have the same issue whether it's Sosa or Kasevich (who'd take Sosa's 40 spot).

@Damon98_ @mo2rose Here's the problem with calling up Kasevich. He's not on the 40-man So while you could switch out Sosa, when barger and Lukes come back the blue jays will be forced to choose between pinango and Kasevich. If Kasevich gets sent back down there are no extra infielders..Sosa stays
