craziest part is that his team, along with all the EV spreads are public knowledge, everyone knows the team and how it plays but he’s still able to consistently be the best, it’s insane I only know one Pokemon that can reliably beat this 6 but i’m not high enough ELO to test :(

I’ve gotten a lot more comments lately of people saying things like “I want to compete but I have a 9-5 oh well :c” and I just want to put it out there that the vast vast majority of competitive Pokémon players have day jobs and don’t compete for a living!

@Zoan1P Open team sheets are just cringe. I wanted this game to feel like an actual competitive experience, similar to what VGC is. But instead it's just a slightly more accessible version of the same ranked mode in every modern pokemon game.

Pokemon Champions definitely did its job of attracting a new player base I’ll say that much. Personally I find myself playing it less and less as time goes by and I’m not sure how to make it more interesting to interact with. I’ll just have to see what a season of it looks like.

I started playing Pokemon competitively about 6 weeks ago in preparation for the Wolfey Invitational and I fell in love with the game! This morning i'm top 300 on the GLOBAL Champions ladder. This is a huge accomplishment for me and i never tweet anymore but here we are

it’s literally just a pokémon battle sim made for competitions. that’s all it was intended to be. not sure why people were expecting anything more.

@MarshSMT ^adding one exception of the games I’ve played: Disco Elysium. Failing a roll in that game often results in an enjoyable outcome instead of just setting you back.

@MarshSMT Except these “punishments” for failing quests or getting arrested always boil down to some sort of setback that costs the player their time (or other resources that require time). So reloading a save always just saves you time.

sometimes people ask why I don't care about achieving perfect runs in games or why I play out doomed save files instead of keeping others to fall back on. this quote from daggerfalls manual gets to the heart of it i think its often just more immersive to roll with your result
