The 9-series roads, top right. Assuming I survive the A96 and A9 while driving around. The Cairngorms. Aberdeen. Huntly. The incredible house in Cairnie I grew up in (now, sadly, a weird Airbnb). A day's walk from Blair Atholl to Braemar. Another day up the Lairig Ghru. Then the route up to the coast and a day at Spey Bay. No midges is a big draw (unless you're super-unlucky in a morning in the Cairngorms, and even then nothing compared to the west).

First thing first Colin theft is not the reason for hike in price of food, you can thank inflation for that. Funny when the inflation is high cost of foods goes but when inflation is down, cost food doesn’t go down. As a former M&S employee we are told that stock are insured and we should not to go after thieves, yes if they are stealing in store we get security guard and prevent them from stealing. Once they leave the store, we are not going to chase them to retrieve the stolen goods. Because we are not insured outside M&S stores. So god forbid something happens to us outside the store, M&S is not held liable for the staff. So please stop your moaning. Staff got million and one things to do before the shift ends. We haven’t got time to play security that is not in our job description.

Interesting thing about being an American in Europe: Europeans don’t work weekends. Ever. You might think, well, nobody works weekends. But in the US there are whole industries built around it. Real estate agents. Car dealerships. Saturday and Sunday are the business. Not here. If you want to see a house or test drive a car, you take time off work to do it. Somehow this is normal. I don’t know how they pull it off. But they do.

@ObrezObserver Upland and marginal Fife is sheep. Lowland Fife is grain and mixed arable. Of course, there are cattle: mainly beef such as Angus with some Galloways and the like for the posh boys. But per acre, cattle are not at all dominant. And Angus is soft fruit.
