I've an announcement to make, for a game months in the making. I'm looking for an artist for character sprites (unpaid), and if you have any interest you can email me at: victoriquecrawford@gmail.com or DM me. #gamedev #IndieGameDev #artists #vn

I'm kind of making a comeback on twitter. The last two years have just been crazy for me. A lot of stuff happened. I left school, got a job, finished a work and now I'm making a real game. I'm mostly using Twitter for browsing really.

What are court-based love stories if not historical office romances?

@midnightmuser1 Congrats. I'm just really happy to see the end even as the arrangement on my end isn't going to end mostly because I'm in college and I don't really need to work or operate heavy machinery or be in a lab. But I can look forward to at least some things going back to school.

Right now I'm just binging on Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul. It has been really intriguing and exciting to watch, just as much as it has given me a whole new light when it comes to creativity.

@Madeline_Pine Someone really needs to say this. This is how religious violence starts, it is when you choose to quietly despise someone, it can be just mocking them, doing petty things but it will escalate into something more if it is not called out or something is done about it.

It's not okay to hate all religious people. It's not. Quiet hate perpetuates loud violence.

@Madeline_Pine I agree. Even as I'm out of religion because I went into a Taoist salvationist cult as a child and that really affected me. It can be positive, and at the end of the day, what matters is the person in question far more than the religion.

I'm disturbed by how openly some of my followers hate religious people. I will always defend the religious' right to discuss their faith. Every time I say this, someone claims they have a right to hate all members of a certain group. No. You don't. Unfollow me if you think so.

@Elderac That is so true, in a way since you're underwater in a situation quite unlike any other.

@EndlessMidnigh1 Although my day job is Tech Writing, it does not significantly influence my writing. If anything, the day job I had before (Navy) informs my work more, because living on a submarine is about as close as we can get to space travel on earth.

@Madeline_Pine I mean, what's the point of it being about bold female characters if there aren't women in it. I would understand adding a man inside so that men can at least understand how to write one, but it should by all means be predominantly female.

@EndlessMidnigh1 You're right! Someone else said that too, and you're both right. Why is it so common to find all-male panels? You'd think the panel on writing women would be the time even those who never think about diversity would go "let's find some awesome female authors"

A writing conference scheduled an all-male panel on "writing bold women" One male author on the panel writes 16-year-old girls being lusted over by 40-year-olds, only writes women as trophies, and has many of them assaulted This is why we need ownvoices panels. #author #books

For me, mine has managed to make me well more willing to tolerate long hours of research and working complicated stuff. Being a programmer has really positively affected my writing and brought me into places that I don't think I would have.

@Madeline_Pine Same thing for me. Even as I could make a sandwich at a young age but nothing much until late adolescence.

The gender ratio in the replies is really interesting. It's mostly women saying they could cook young. My mom didn't allow me in the kitchen. It was her hobby space, and I was a kid who wouldn't treat her tools well. My dad wouldn't let me touch his work bench either 🤷

@Madeline_Pine I agree, it's important to have that. Even as right now I may not want to delve too heavy into religion, but maybe one day I would. Spirituality still has its place in the world, and everyone has a place to say what they believe in. Whether they're religious or not.

All diversity deserves more room on the publishing shelf, including religious diversity. Before the haters come for me: not every fiction book needs religious characters, but there's a distinct lack of Muslim, Jewish, Buddhist, etc., characters being portrayed kindly in books

@Madeline_Pine Exactly. Changing times happen, it may not be perfect but well, harping on it tells more on you than the person buying it.

Alright, I don't usually say this, but this is a stupid take. People buy illustrated covers. If they didn't, we wouldn't put them on books. And yes, they can cost less, which is great for self-published authors. Stop hating on changes and trends. It just makes you sound bitter.
