so, I apologize for this long series of messages, but I hope this makes some sense about why it is so upsetting to regularly see even "fully-transitioned" trans women (like in the quoted tweet) being depicted like this. thanks for making it all the way to the end.

people really forget how Bureaucratic Evangelion feels. you see the exact chains of decisions made in any given situation and the exact way responses to those decisions are handled, in board rooms, control rooms, etc by specific people. it’s an Anno specialty and very nice to see

it's been a few years, but I remember taking it as a result of her being homeless that such self care wasn't as readily available, b/c there's that flashback where she's performing at the bar and her face is perfectly clean shaven at that time 🤔

Tokyo Godfathers, a movie i love featuring one of my favourite trans characters on film, doesn’t give any clean shaven characters visible stubble except for Hana. it’s fucking ridiculous

When it comes to depicting trans women with body hair you have to consider how most popular art styles omit body hair entirely for everyone. Cis men are often depicted hairless below the neck. Your art does not exist in a vacuum separate from all that.
