I hear Thiago & Saif will be released. That is great! NOW ALL OF US must keep pressing governments so that Apartheid Israel releases the thousands of Palestinians held in its torture centers. Ahmed joined the advocacy as soon as he was freed. What an example. We missed you Ahmed!

#WhenTheWorldSleeps Palestine stands as the moral compass of our time. Exposing Apartheid and its crimes, their root causes and implications, is necessary to ensure the world "wake up" and work together to overcome it. Together we can and we will.
Bookshop, NY@Paysferemart

When the World Sleeps: Stories, Words, and Wounds of Palestine by Francesca Albanese The first woman to serve as United Nations Special Rapporteur for the Occupied Palestinian Territory conveys the spirit of a people through 10 unforgettable stories of resilience and humanity. Francesca Albanese is the most lucid voice against Israel’s apartheid policies in Gaza and the West Bank, a voice that has been heard around the world when it comes to speaking the truth about the Palestinian genocide. In the wake of October 7, 2023, and Israel’s retaliatory war, the renowned Italian jurist has become a lightning rod for her staunch defense of human rights.  Reflecting on her years living in Jerusalem and her personal and professional journey toward understanding the Palestinian struggle, Albanese pays tribute to 10 people whose profoundly affecting stories opened her eyes, from Hind Rajab, a young Palestinian girl killed by Israeli forces, to the remarkable Jewish scholars who acted as Albanese’s mentors: forensic architect Eyal Weizman, trauma expert Gabor Maté, and Holocaust historian Alon Confino. When the World Sleeps is a courageous testimony of the harsh reality that Palestinians face. It raises critical questions about the past, present, and future of Palestine: What are the consequences of the occupation? Where is a refugee’s home? In what conditions do Palestinians live? With the uncertain end of the war, will there be a Palestinian state? Will Palestinians have the right to self-determination, and will they be able to live in peace, free at last from the coercion of Israel? I would encourage those struggling with fuel costs and with sincere grievances to look through this man's social media accounts before platforming him or getting behind him as any sort of spokesperson.

Simon your AI assited response, deserves one back don't you think. You are using hysterical language like “sinister,” “despicable,” and “lawless” to avoid the actual grievance. In democratic systems, peaceful assembly is a protected right, and restrictions on it have to be lawful, necessary, and proportionate. European human-rights case law also recognizes that public demonstrations can cause disruption to ordinary life; disruption by itself does not make a protest illegitimate. So the direct answer is: what is truly despicable is pretending that a such a blockade is the real attack on society when people have already been under sustained economic attack from unaffordable fuel and punitive taxation. If fuel is so vital that interrupting its distribution is intolerable, then making it unaffordable in the first place is even more intolerable. That is the hypocrisy at the heart of your statement. The right answer in a democracy is not to criminalize dissent with loaded rhetoric, but to show why any restrictions are necessary and proportionate and to address the underlying cause. Get to the talking table lad.

The blocking of the distribution of fuel is a sinister and despicable attack on our economy and our society. This is not a lawless country. The laws of the land must and will be applied without fear.

BREAKING! Amid widespread bombing across Arab regions, Israel approves its largest-ever colonial expansion. Under the "fog of war'', what I warned on 14 Oct 2023 is unfolding: the largest ethnic cleansing/land grab in Palestine, since the Nakba. It’s happening. Under our watch.
Itay Epshtain@EpshtainItay

BREAKING: More details come into view. #Israel’s Security Cabinet has reportedly approved 34 new settlements, further entrenching its unlawful presence deep within the occupied State of #Palestine. The secrecy surrounding the decree appears calibrated, not for domestic necessity, but to spare discomfort among allies in the region, Europe and the United States. The ICJ Advisory Opinion on the Legal Consequences of the Occupation of Palestinian Territory (2024) was unambiguous. Israel is under an obligation to bring its unlawful presence to an end, unconditionally and without delay. Third States are under a corresponding duty not to aid or assist in maintaining that situation, and to cooperate to bring it to an end. Yet the response has been one of studied inaction. The Court spoke with clarity; the world replied with silence. Israel, reading that silence for what it is, has chosen not restraint, but acceleration of its colonization efforts.
