@CrimeWatchZW Zimbabweans will borrow money for transport to report for duty! Never seen such docile people!

OK Zimbabwe, a major retail chain currently under corporate rescue, has suspended all employee salaries starting May 2026 in an effort to save the business.
The company says the decision was made after an urgent board meeting and approval by the Joint Works Council. A corporate rescue practitioner was appointed earlier in February 2026 to help turn the business around after it began struggling financially.
Management argues that stopping payroll is a temporary measure meant to stabilise the company, reduce costs, and help it recover until it becomes profitable again. They also say the decision is part of a formal corporate rescue process under Zimbabwe’s Insolvency Act.
However, the move has raised strong concern because it effectively means workers will continue reporting for duty without pay.

@Eng_BrianM @zoomafrika1 People tend to forget that we as Africans we are our own enemies, slave trade has ended, but how are we treating each other, we are our own enemies
English

@zoomafrika1 During slave trade Africans conquered other Africans and sold them. It was a terrible time. In sure if it was slave trade today , in SA they will round up all foreigns and sell them.

@On1smo @CrimeWatchZW Well said, where do they expect them to get the money, they should be grateful they were paid for doing nothing
English

@CrimeWatchZW Based on your outputs, do you think your company is makizng anything to pay you? I mean mune ndege here? Ngani, uye basa rako iwewe ririkubatsirei Zimbabwe coz im sure hausi productive. I mean Air Zim yakaparara kare. Tsvakai mabasa akomana

Hi boss. We at Air Zimbabwe have now gone for two months without receiving our salaries.
I work in the Engineering Department as a trainee. Every month, we receive about US$120 and ZiG 1800, but for the past two months we have not been paid anything.
The company has not addressed the issue or communicated with staff about what is happening. We have not taken any action yet because, as you know, in Zimbabwe people are often afraid of losing their jobs, so they just keep quiet.
From what I know, all Air Zimbabwe staff members have not been paid over the last two months. However, we do not know whether the executives are also affected.

Your odds of being struck by lightning are more than seven times greater than getting Hantavirus in the USA.
About 250 people get struck by lightening each year.
There are about 35 cases per year of Hantavirus in the UEA, with about 12 deaths per year on average.
Obviously, Hantavirus shouldn't be a big concern for the vast majority of Americans.
