It’s time we start asking ourselves hard, honest questions.
What kind of society are we becoming if we turn against one another like this?
South African citizens living abroad are not treated this way, yet here we are, choosing to bully and attack fellow Africans living among us.
We cannot normalize this madness. We cannot stay silent.

‼️🇲🇱🇷🇺 On the morning of April 25, JNIM, an affiliate of Al Qaeda carried out a surprise attack North of the Malian capital.
The terrorists initially overran the positions of the Malian Army but were eliminated by Malian reinforcement units and the Russian African Corp (Wagner).
Heavy fighting is still ongoing in the city of Kidal, Kati and Gao. Joint air operations are also used in the counteroffensive.
"The terrorist launched waves of bodies attempting to overwhelm but suffered heavy casualties. The situation is under control. Stay away from propaganda online aimed to cause disruption" – Malian Military
During the counter attack, it was noted that multiple of the terrorists were wearing uniforms of the Malian Army. The terrorists infiltrated the camps and began their attacks before being neutralized.
The islamists also used drones, which have stark similarities with ones made by Ukraine, while other sources in Mali claim western forces/intelligence helped in planning the attack.
The fight continues, Mali continues to fight with military support from surrounding African nations.

60 years of independence. 26 years of democracy.
Statistics don't lie: Poverty in our region has either stagnated or worsened depending on which report you read.
I'm not here to name names or blame anyone - pls do not construe my simple analysis to a negative comment.
Every leader who comes in to salvage us inherits a broken system. But after every 4 or 8 yrs on the same chair, the statistic doesn't change!
I am in government now, thus not as a decision-maker. So I keep asking a simple question: Why do we keep the same methods and expecting different results?
If the good people of Sokoto ever mandate me to lead (I'm dreaming 👍), I won't promise miracles but I will promise math - clear statistics:
1. Track every kobo of LG allocation publicly.
2. Digitize farm subsidies - remove the middlemen.
3. Turn Almajiri centers into skill factories.
4. Prioritize electricity & security as the floor, not the ceiling.
5. Kill "government work" as the goal. Build self-employment instead.
I am crying for #Sokoto, not against anyone, just for a future where the poverty statistic stops being our national anthem & logo.
It's a team work, so, what can you or your local government do differently?

Most of the people in #Sokoto are poor, idle, desperate and full of uncertainties on who's going help! In fact according to the National Bureau of Statistic, 91% of Sokoto people are multidimensional poor (no money, no education & lack infrastructure) with Ondo state the least (27℅) in Nigeria! Subsidy removal, CFA, Dollar rise and inflation have added too much pressure on the already poor people of Sokoto & have created more new poor people! The statistic is grim, you can't comprehend this except if you live in Sokoto especially if you live in getto areas like me! This can't continue! It's a time bomb! Hunger & malnutrition is what I see daily in my neighborhood! As long as Sokoto wants to get out of poverty, ends insecurity, works towards economic development and the wellbeing of the people, solving electricity problem is a MUST & THE FIRST to tackle! 80+% of the entire Sokoto is in complete darkness, not even underserved, but in complete darkness! A welder cannot eat bcoz no light! A shop owner cannot sell cold drink bcoz no light! A dry cleaner, a barber, the least goes on are all jobless due to lack of electricity and most of them are Youths! These Youths MUST eat, they MUST create jobs no matter what and that's why insecurity is becoming difficult to end! About a month ago a Youth (thief) broke into my house and carted away stuff. Yesterday I caught another Youth who again broke into the house. He is from my neighborhood, an NCE dropout due to poverty & my chat with him was so touching! He claims, he hasn't eaten the whole of that day & there is nothing to steal in most of the houses he broke into that night that's why he came into mine! There are hundreds like him scattered all over the state especially in the rural areas where kidnapping, banditry & cattle rustling are high. Finally, I wish, I pray & advise and will continue to advise His Excellency the Executive Governor of Sokoto state Dr Ahmed Aliyu to focus more on restoring electricity in Sokoto (which he has started) which will create jobs, solve insecurity & end the various health challenges of the statestate including malnutrition! @ahmedaliyusok @BazzaHon48894 @TheREANigeria @REANigeria @federal_power

Soon, some voices will come out saying the suspects did nothing wrong. In fact, they’ll argue that the whole thing was staged by the pastoralist just to push a narrative. Those reporting what actually happened? Of course, they’ll be accused of working with criminals bandits.
Then comes the outrage cycle protests by naked women, roadblocks, and tension everywhere. Innocent people get caught in the middle, while the real issue keeps getting buried under noise and emotion.

Because apparently, in this script, no one is ever guilty, No one has committed any crime, they are all victim, everyone caught with Arms and ammunition is just “defending something.”
