Greta Thunberg said Trump must allow oil exports to Cuba; now she’s getting called a “fake environmentalist” by people too stupid to understand environmentalism & “If people will die without fossil fuels, it’s a justified exception” humanitarianism are morally consistent stances

@0xSa_tan For most of the air quality monitors in the market, if you spread a little bit alcohol in the air near it, the HCHO level will raise up. So it only measure VOC and give a estimate HCHO level to you. I decided to make separate sensor for HCHO since it is so important.

@Engineer_Wong super awesome that you’re separating tvoc and hcho sensors rather than estimating hcho!!

Yes. I am working on it. It has four separate high quality sensors for PM, Co2, VOC and formaldehyde to cover most of the hazard in the air. The battery can last for 12 hours after fully charged. I believe it can be one of the best air quality monitor in the market. I think we can release them in about 6 month.

@FullLaneFemme It only goes up to 999, and it is enough to remind you to run away from that place at once. 😀

@Engineer_Wong Do you predict the PM2.5 will go higher than 999? My current one stops there. I absolutely recognize that 999 is bonkers but I’d love an air quality monitor that can give me as accurate a measure as possible, for my own curiosity😅

@Engineer_Wong Oooooh I’ve been needing an air quality monitor that covers more than CO2/temp/humidity, and this looks great. I’ve been wanting to support your tech for a while too, but haven’t had the chance yet. I know it’s not for a while, but do you have an approximate price estimate?

@Biff234523 I noticed that too. But I was told that this sensor is not for sale yet. At least not to the public.

Thanks for the update, certainly looking forward to it! This is a completely separate topic, but I’m just curious if you’ve done any investigating (or had any thoughts) on the newer Bosch PM sensor and maybe incorporating it into future products? mouser.com/pdfDocs/bst-bm… I understand it’s not applicable to this current project, which is to provide a high quality all-around monitor, but I think there are a lot of people where PM matters the most and they would like to see something ultra portable that rivals some of the smaller CO2 monitors on the market. There’s currently only the PurpleAir pixel using it (www2.purpleair.com/products/purpl…) but it’s not a good product yet. There’s no readout for the data, no battery, it’s still using USB-A, etc.

@AbeiV There is no plan. The only thing they are going to do is escalate the situation to try to make Iran surrender. And it is unlikely going to happen.

I have an AirFanta 3Pro placed outside my window to blow clean air into my home, creating positive pressure. It has worked very well. For three years, there hasn't been a speck of dust in my home. I haven't had to wipe the surfaces of furniture and objects.

1/Great question — and not widely understood If you want a simple rule: Use positive pressure to protect a vulnerable person Use negative pressure to isolate a contagious person This is what hospitals do — and you can approximate it at home. 👇🧵

With this, you can close all your windows and also keep Co2 level low. In my home, the PM2.5 is below 0.1 micro/L, and CO2 is below 800ppm. If you keep the window open and even you run 10 air purifiers, PM2.5 level can't be this much low, because it always take time for air purifiers to clean the dust that comes in from the window. But with this, every m3 clean air will be filtered once before entering my room. For the dust shedding from our skin, I live in Guangzhou which is a high humidity place, and the influcence is not obviouse, and also I have air purifiers in every room.

This is how the plastic is extracted from the mold. Some of the plastic you are using everyday is produced in this way.

We have a size adapter that can be attached to the 3Pro fan, converting the rectangular air outlet into a round one. Additionally, there is a sealing cloth that can seal the window, allowing you to place the air outlet inside it.

@Engineer_Wong Please tell us more about how you've connected it in? Dust in our home is significantly reduced with a HEPA on the furnace & separate filters elsewhere.

You don’t understand the Chinese way of thinking. The Chinese are not opportunistic; they would not launch a speculative war just because U.S. forces have been reduced in a certain region. China has a well-considered, long-term strategy and executes it with determination—to win the competition in the long run. When the United States is compelled to compromise with China, Beijing can achieve its geopolitical goals without resorting to war. As The Art of War by Sun Tzu clearly states: "To subdue the enemy without fighting is the acme of skill." The Chinese are extremely, extremely patient, and when they plan something, they do so with a century-long perspective.
