The £30k starting salary for teachers is no longer competitive amid the cost-of-living crisis, soaring inflation and a strong graduate labour market, and it should be reviewed, warns @JackWorthNFERtes.com/magazine/news/…
This morning, over 100 of our Year 11 pupils at @ArmfieldFCAT prepared for their GCSE English language mock exam by engaging in a writing masterclass taken by writer-poet Nathan Parker (@parkerwords). Absolutely recommend him if you teach English in Lancashire / north west 💥
Today, we welcomed @parkerwords to our school to conduct a creative writing and poetry session based on Lady Macbeth. He worked with some of our Year 8 @ArmfieldFCAT pupils on collectively creating a poem based on the play’s powerful antagonist 👸🏽#Poetry 📝 #Writing@EnglishFCAT
Convincing evidence from @douglasharris99 and Mary Penn that the presence of charter schools reduces the number of teachers graduating from traditional teacher prep programs: bit.ly/3WBcpvK. How you feel about that probably depends on your views about those programs.
We are deeply saddened to learn of the death of Joseph Delaney. He was a fantastic and passionate advocate for libraries in Lancashire and beyond. He will be dearly missed.
Our sincere condolences to his family.
Calling all @ArmfieldFCAT students and staff! Keep sending me your extreme reading pictures over the holidays. There have been some fantastic entries so far. This was me yesterday, reading Lear Wife at Malham Cove!
