@Eniolaolq This isn't lie, it's coming to reality
Ikeja, Nigeria 🇳🇬 English

When I rented the house I lived in Lagos in 2009, the house was uncompleted. 2 blocks of 2-bedroom flats were available for rent while the upper flats were uncompleted. I paid for one of the flats downstairs.
During rainy seasons, my sitting room will be leaking from the top and this damages a lot of electronics. I complained several times but the landlord won't do anything about it.
4 years later, he completed the flats upstairs and rented them out. One day, I called a bricklayer and a painter to repair the damage water had done to the rooms and repaint the whole apartment. I bought blocks, cement, paint, and new tiles. The landlord saw the artisans working in my flat and he came to confirm what was going on.
When he came in, he saw the level of damage the water had done to the flat and what I was doing to repair the damage. He said "I never knew the damage was this much" and he left.
The following morning, he called me and said I should give him the bill for what I spent on the repair. When the repair was completed, I took the bill to the landlord. He collected the bill and said he would get back to me.
Exactly 3 weeks later, he called me and said he had increased the rent of my apartment and the amount I used to repair the apartment will cover the differences in the first year then going forward, I will pay the new rent.
I was paying N250k before the repair. I gave him a bill of N50k for the repair and he increased my rent to N300k then he said I have used N50k to repair the apartment.
It was a painful experience but I learned a lesson.

This is the very height of it. Tenants gathered money and sank a borehole. Landlord increase rent immediately and even served quit notice. Stop updating/upgrading places you’re renting.

Tinubu in Jos Confirms ‘Don't Vote for Me’ Prediction on Power Supply
During the 2023 campaign, President Tinubu made a clear electoral promise: “If I don’t give you constant electricity in four years, don’t vote for me for a second term.”
When he took office in 2023, Nigeria had a power supply of over 4,000 megawatts and lower tariffs. Today, the electricity power supply is less than 4,000 megawatts on the average, and Nigerians are paying higher tariffs. Nigeria currently has the lowest per capita electricity consumption in the world, with a rate below 30% of the African average. Africa’s average is 617kwh, Nigeria’s is 144 kWh. This means that Nigerians consume least electricity than other Africans.
In a glaring display of disregard for promises and a lack of trust, President Tinubu, during a brief airport stopover to visit grieving families of the Jos attack on Thursday, April 2, 2026, stated that one of the reasons for his 10-minute stay was that the airport had no electricity. “You have no light here I fly out in ten minutes” At a time when Nigerians are enduring days without power, our leaders cannot even stay a few minutes without it.
Now is the time to stop incompetent leaders—those lacking the capacity and compassion—who prioritise their own comfort over the well-being of the people and make empty promises.
A new Nigeria is POssible. -PO
