Because the term “medieval” is associated with white people. There was no “medieval” age in any place south of the equator. Didn’t even reach the middle east. Brown and black people completely skipped that part. So now medieval is smeared as an age where white people were really dirty and smelly in order to belittle us. P.s blacks skipped the entire stone age, neolithic revolution, medieval age, and were unnaturally integrated into a world far above their intelligence and emotional capacity

Why is there such a...fervor? zeal? fetish? about medieval people being unhygienic?

@megievalist Enlightenment thinkers wanting to make the middle aged look like a period of decline and darkness, and Victorians making stuff up because their own society was pretty dirty.

Your real criterion is 'I personally think this life is worth living'. Same for dementia. If I can't remember the names of loved ones it's not worth living anymore. At that point it's selfish to let these people suffer.

If the foetus was removed from the mother it couldn't survive on its own before those 12 weeks. And even after it would be difficult.

@F1L0S0V @Grameries @astralvcid @sammieking77 @enjoyer_liberty People with pacemakers have hearts that beat (that's what the pacemaker does) and people whose heart is so underdeveloped that it cannot beat on its own cannot live, unless they get a heart donor or a pacemaker (idk if that can actually help them, I'm not a cardiologist).

@F1L0S0V @Grameries @astralvcid It's specifically week 12 because there had to be a specific point after which abortion cannot happen anymore. No pregnancy perfectly follows this calendar, but 12 weeks was just chosen as the best place to put the stop. This wasn't arbitrarily decided though.

@EnjoyingHistory @Grameries @astralvcid @sammieking77 @enjoyer_liberty So there you go - organs don’t start developing on week 11 day 6, they start from week 6. But it’s still okay to kill children even when their organs are already developing. Because they are not fully formed yet.
