I created this illustration on the shared pathology between uterine fibroids, keloids, and Central Centrifugal Cicatricial Alopecia (CCCA). These conditions are often studied in silos, yet emerging evidence points to them sharing fibrotic and inflammatory pathways.

Sweet syndrome is a rare skin condition caused by a build up of white blood cells under the skin that cause inflammation. It’s vital that dermatological skin conditions like this are shown on dark skin to help accurately diagnose and treat them. #representationmatters

it’s crazy the things we don’t even realize we don’t have because of racism, i never even thought about the fact i never saw a black fetus illustrated & now that i’m seeing it, my mind is really blown that i never saw one before now

Behind the scenes of how I create a medical illustration. Every piece has a slightly different work flow depending on the deliverables and type of project but generally my process always includes research, finding references, sketching and final rendering. #medicalillustration

The purpose of this project was to also reflect the importance of normalizing anatomy without pathology on larger bodies so as to help eliminate bias that frames larger bodies as inherently unhealthy. #antifatbias

The labels were intentionally left off so students could label the anatomy themselves.
