Members of Ensemble Byron Choir are in a recording studio for Icon Theatre’s ‘The House That Floated Away’. They are being very professional & are doing a great job!

Year R had an amazing treat this afternoon listening to music composed by Noah Lock to Julia Donaldson's Room on the Broom. The children said that Noah was the best composer in the world and created a card to say thank you. #JuliaDonaldson #RoomontheBroom @NoahOnTheBass

Byron & Brompton Westbrook School Orchestras joined forces today for a workshop with Tom from @musicatmalling They listened to Beethoven’s 5th & the Inspector Morse theme for inspiration around Morse Code to compose & rehearse their own piece to mark VE Day. 🎼🎶🎵🎹🎸🥁🎻🎷

Our year 4 recorders had a lovely afternoon & evening rehearsing & performing in The Recorder Festival at @Gravesend_GS They got to see & hear a ContraBass Recorder which was taller than the adult musician playing it! Their solo piece was a triumph & they showed dedication.🎼🎶🎵

FS have had a fantastic week exploring different musical instruments. They have been creating music by using repeating patterns and trying to play them correctly. #youngmusician #repeatingpatterns #creatingmusic

FS were cutting & sticking pictures of instruments to make patterns and then performing their compositions this afternoon during free flow. They recalled the names of the percussion instruments and could play loudly, quietly, quickly and slowly. 🥁

Participation and enjoyment was seen in all the lessons observed 😊🎼🎵🎶🥁

We are all really looking forward to our workshop @BWPrimary with @musicatmalling where we will be putting all of the orchestra members from both schools together to create a really big @WestbrookTrust orchestra! 🎼🎶🎵🎹🎸🥁🎻🎺🎷🪈#musiceducation #musiced #WeMusicTeachers

5 members of @ByronSchool Orchestra have helped compose a piece with some other children, including 7 members of @BWPrimary Orchestra, which they then performed at @musicatmalling Scratch Orchestra in the beautiful setting of Malling Abbey. We’ve had a fantastic time. Thank you.

Huge congratulations to our Year 3 and Year 4 children for putting on such a great production this week. The singing was amazing!
