@reallifeuzi I hate to do this, but I literally made a point in my most recent video that TADC isn't really complex because it's not trying to hide or obfuscate any of its central ideas and themes, the only things its leaves vague are elements of the mystery in the narrative.

"But they're not really that complex" Yes, that is indeed the point. There's complexity here but it isn't even close to the most complex writing ever and yet people still not only misread it but downplay it as well, that is the point of the post

the "issue" with jax's character arc is that its ugly. its unpalatable, especially to mainstream performative mental health awareness. but worst of all, its realistic. and refusing to engage with a realistic story because you personally dislike the character is willfully ignorant

Some criticism of the Digital Circus finale I'm seeing deadass seems to boil down to "Jax is a bad person so why should I care." You're allowed to not like Jax but I find that such a shallow way to engage with something.

@VerloreSiDaccus @splitfancy32760 @Cybershell This is why stories suck now because this is arguably THE most clear thing in the entire finale and you’re still missing it. Writers have to see opinions like yours and feel the need to have a character walk up to the camera and say “I’m XYZ”.

Sigh... Jax having a heartbreaking trans arc is pretty cool, I guess... I just feel like we lost some important representation for insanely annoying guys who fumble baddies and ruin everything for literally no reason... that's all.

Toy Story 5 was great, but in my opinion, this scene alone is enough for me to rank Toy Story 3 as the best Toy Story movie of all time. No climax in the franchise, as great as they are, has given me chills quite like this one. It remains my favorite scene in the Toy Story franchise, one of my favorite Pixar moments in the studio's history, and one of my favorite scenes in any movie I've ever seen. What's even more remarkable is that Toy Story 3 wasn't just nominated for and won Best Animated Feature, it also became one of only three animated films in history to receive a Best Picture nomination at the Oscars, as well as a nomination for Best Adapted Screenplay. It's just an exceptional movie ❤️
