Over 60 German and Austrian universities, the German Federal Court of Justice and multiple top German football clubs have announced on Friday that they will be completely withdrawing from Twitter, as a result of Elon Musk's "discussion" with far-right AfD's Alice Weidl.

@dfranc76 @MichaelVaughan Don’t forget the adage though from Laws of Cricket “IF, in the opinion of the umpires…….”. So they have to be absolutely certain. If in doubt, it’s not out. All the talk by pundits/press/public doesn’t matter. One makes a choice according to the Laws & one’s own conscience.

@SpecterRegen @JacobLunn11 Shame all you can do to be nasty. You haven’t even the decency to spell his name correctly. What a wonderful example of a human being you are (not).

I wish Graeme Swann’s shock retirement mid way through the 2013/14 Ashes series had been treated with the same understanding now given to Ravi Ashwin. I always felt he was unfairly vilified for admitting that he couldn’t do it anymore having realised it was time to go.

@becksjaynee The least that could have been done is to get that man to court and made to pay reparations.

Well, it's been an eventful few days for me, been stuck in Torbay Hospital with a Cellulitis infection in my left leg. I'm home now, but I still have to pop in for a daily IV of antibiotics. Which means of course, that the daily countdown sequence has been broken. Hopefully we can all turn a blind eye to this, if I fill in the gaps, starting with Saturday.. COUNTDOWN TO THE NEW SEASON ! 119 Days To Go ! Somerset beat Nottinghamshire by 119 runs in their County Championship match at Trent Bridge in May 1960. Peter Wight was the bedrock of Somerset's first innings total of 339/9 declared. Wight made 152, Geoff Lomax 52, and Harold Stephenson 42. Ken Palmer was the star with the ball as the home side were bowled out for 219. Palmer took 5/52, Ken Biddulph 2/46, whilst Colin Atkinson and Brian Langford had one each. Norman Hill top-scored for the home side with 74. Somerset declared on 219/6 to set Notts 340 to win, but the home side had no answer to Somerset's spin duo of Langford (4/50) and Colin McCool (5/115) who took 9 of the 10 Notts wickets to fall as they could only muster 220 all out. i.imgci.com/db/STATS/BY_CA…
