The thing is, if the Surulere LG Chairman did not append to Desmond Eliot's candidature, he should forget about it, though in Surulere, Gbaja is the number one respected political leader even to the grassroot even down to the boys of the world. The same thing happened here in Oshodi-Isolo, where there was a cold political rivalry between MC Oluomo and the LG Chairman, Kendoo, who brought in a fresh and young guy, Alakija, to stop an old man, Ogundipe, who had been there for 12 years. A few days before the election, the man who had been an existing member and an Oluomo loyalist was eliminated from the equation, meaning a fresh mind would now be representing in the Lagos State House of Assembly.

@9ja_Ballers Grassroots teams get 21yrs old player, put him on the bench, ask him to wait 2, 3years for his time, no match playing time, only get 15mins of training with the main team on 11v11, he can only join fitness and ball work, this is killing our youth football.

Actually U-17 boys are still in secondary school or they just wrote JAMB. There is no real 17-21 year old who plays in the league.

@9ja_Ballers The major problem is, less 19/20 years real age is given playing time in grassroots clubs, most players in grassroots are 25 and above, the real 19/20 only seat on the bench, how do you develop if there is no playing time?

The reason these couple of years we haven't been doing well in the age grade competition, yeah, the coaching aspect is there but we are forgetting to attack the giant problem which is nepotism when actually choosing players.

These two boys are way above the age grade they are pegged at if we are being honest. This is why, when they get to Europe they can't perform optimally.
