APPG vice-chair, @carla_denyer, argued that as well as being bad for the climate, approving the UK’s largest undeveloped oil field, Rosebank, would do nothing to lower energy bills at home.

APPG member @Wera_Hobhouse insisted that the UK’s dependence on fossil fuels caused by previous failure to invest sufficiently in renewables and home insulation led directly to the spike in energy bills in recent years.

🌊On Monday evening we celebrated the passing of the High Seas Treaty with a reception🎉 Joined by a fantastic line-up of speakers and Minister for Water & Flooding Emma Hardy MP, we celebrated the Treaty as a landmark act that will protect two-thirds of the world’s oceans🐋

Kaleem Luthra (@ejfoundation) warned of the damage caused by Illegal, Unreported & Unregulated (IUU) fishing -the third most lucrative illicit natural-resource crime But there’s cause for hope - governments showed what’s possible by coming together around the High Seas Treaty🌊

🌍 The Minister emphasised that the BBNJ marks the start of a new phase of collective responsibility for our oceans. She noted the government is now working at pace to deliver the secondary legislation needed to implement the Bill 📜

@SarahDykeLD ⛈️During last Tuesday's debate on the flooding from Storm Chandra, APPG member @MartinWrigley highlighted how three storms is not an anomaly but a pattern. Government funding is needed so communities are able to deal with the aftermath. ⛈️

Pleased to hear @SarahDykeLD highlight that recent floods are a symptom of climate change, citing the Environment Agency’s projection of a 90% rise in properties at risk from river and coastal flooding by the 2080s. 🌍🌧️#flooding
