Meanwhile, Ormond Beach Police Chief Jesse Godfrey firmly defended his sergeant's actions based on the reckless speeds and failure to yield. ​Just five days later, the State Attorney's Office formally dismissed the felony fleeing and eluding charges due to a lack of evidence regarding criminal intent.
