Last time I used BASF Sound I it sounded HORRIBLE on my deck and for some reason had abhorrent wow and flutter. The ones I recorded for them sounds alright and it is probably because I had to revamp the transport again and service that dreaded Mabuchi reel motor tbh

Those Dolby NR tapes were recorded using Maxell/BASF Sound I tapes which sounded very nice, but I didn’t like the quality of the roller guides on it. Hopefully it plays well on their deck because I don’t have a second deck anymore for trying it out before it was sent off

Probably the few last personally recorded cassette I did using RX-202. This and the two Dolby Noise Reduction test tapes I did for Marble Collie were the last time I used RX-202 for recording… Before it developed a biasing issue out of nowhere. Absolutely sad

I’ve thankfully managed to seal a deal with a parts supplier for replacement bias trap transformer coils for Nakamichi decks, but it is rather expensive as these were special made parts by KOR Japan for Nakakichi (10.5mH variable induction coils)
