@nsftrades If you can predict movement in the chart then you can really profit off strategies that require very little of it. Look into selling credit spreads.

@Equ1ty_Engineer Makes sense, that flexibility is what caught my eye. Coming from futures, I’m used to needing movement so the idea of profiting from no move is interesting. Definitely gonna look into that more Appreciate the insight and keep it up, Seems like you’ve been crushing it!

Sold some 0dte credit spreads on the pop. Easy money. 💰 now to size those up.

I think they both have their place. When I first started I didn’t fully understand the flexibility options allowed and was just buying long calls and puts so theta was always a bitch. But now that I’ve dove deeper into them and started to understand them more I think options are the superior instrument to trade. You can profit from movement or no movement. Huge moves or just general drifting. I plan to stick with them for now after trading futures for so long.

@Equ1ty_Engineer This is nice. Been heavy on futures but feel like I’m missing out not learning spreads. If you had to restart, what would you dial in first? I really want to start growing my portfolio aswell

Tomorrow is OPEX. Don’t see a whole lot of opportunity. Maybe we’re putting in a bottom, maybe not? Formed a daily sibi so longs can be iffy and early here. If staying short I’d wait for SPX 6670/80.

Initially I was scared of the time decay for options but watching @Equ1ty_Engineer, it looks like paying premium for time (expiration) for more forgiving delta deviations and utilizing futures/prop to maximize delta might be the way to go.

@tradershekki And that’s the probability of profit with 0 technical edge. Throw in some market structure and levels or whatever you use and your edge amplifies

@Equ1ty_Engineer yeah i think thats what optionplays was saying too. dont get fooled by negative rr on credit spreads because the probability of those being in profit are usually 60-80%. youre giving up profit for security.

@tradershekki Same bro. I’m learning there’s easier ways to profit than trying to predict every move in the market

Depends on where you structure them too. Both are usually bought and sold OTM. But credit spread doesn’t have to move much at all and can even go against you and you still make money. So it does seem a lot more forgiving. I’m def trying to master these and find my groove cuz it’s been 100x less stressful than trading futures in this garbage

@Equ1ty_Engineer just looking at the difference between BE on debit vs credit, i see why people like credit more

It depends on your outlook for the underlying. Do you think we’re gonna get a huge move soon? Or do you think it may take time to play out. An ITM credit spread is the exact same thing as an OTM debit spread. That would be for a stronger directional bias. For something you thing will hold support/resitqnce but not necessarily make a huge move an ATM credit spread or slightly OTM credit spread is the way to go.

@Equ1ty_Engineer okay yeah i do like spreads, but finding the right spreads is real skill i guess. My first spread was last year PLTR short and just cause I chose some weird spread, I made so little >:( going to use spreads for directional positioning and future for directional scalp

But even with credit spreads selling a couple for say $2000 every week seems fairly reasonable using technicals. A lot of times people close them early too for 50-80% profit. Feels like a pretty low risk way to earn income every week. 1 or 2 plays a weeks with a moderate directional bias

@Equ1ty_Engineer ah so BE where retest might happen and if it goes higher from there, then trade is invalidated and you lose your max loss not bad.
