Tens of thousands of Ukrainian children taken by Russia remain separated from their country and loved ones. We will not rest until every single one of them is reunited with their families. With €50 million, we're putting concrete support behind our commitment. Strengthening protection systems, providing education and ensuring justice for the stolen children. The return of each child must be part of any peace agreement.

#Exclusive: Doug Ford cited abuse of OSAP as one reason for its overhaul. Here’s what new data actually shows trib.al/y9i3mJw

"Feel safe", not "be safe". Police politics is always about spending millions for feelings.

There’s no better place in the world to host the Defence, Security and Resilience Bank than Toronto and Ontario.

Israeli forces deliberately murdered Palestinian journalist Shireen Abu Akleh 4 years ago today. Canada’s Liberal government worked quietly behind the scenes to help Israel whitewash its responsibility for the killing. readthemaple.com/one-year-on-wh…

The Ford government says it is addressing capacity pressures inside hospitals, even as a new report finds a sharp spike in ER wait times is putting patients at risk. The majority of hospitals are also forecasting budget deficits. We ask the health minister about the findings:

How come Jews make up less than 1% of Canada’s population, yet suffer 70% of its religious hate crimes? In 2025 alone, Canada recorded 6,800 antisemitic incidents. That's 20 a day! And while the incidents keep adding up, the incitement continues. Canada’s government has failed to protect its Jewish community. The time to ban incitement is now.

This is a hard article to read, but I hope you'll do so. I've spent some time reporting on widespread rape and other sexual violence of Palestinian male and female prisoners by Israeli authorities, and the article is now published. The assault victims were warned not to give speak of what they endured -- they were sometimes told they would be killed or raped if they gave interviews -- but they found the courage to do so. One man described being raped three times in a single day in Israeli prison, the third time after he tried to protest. A young woman said the guards would come in at the beginning of each shift and strip her naked and abuse her. Another reported that she was shown photos of herself being raped and warned they would be released unless she cooperated with Israeli intelligence. Even three children who had been detained told me they had been sexually abused. Look, whatever our position on the Middle East, we should be able to agree on being anti-rape. Sexual assaults were horrific when Israeli women were targeted on Oct. 7, and they're equally horrific when Israeli authorities use them against Palestinians day after day after day. We should be able to find common ground in opposing rape. Here's a gift link to the article: nytimes.com/2026/05/11/opi…

Every Canadian deserves to feel safe – in their home, on their street, and in their community. During National Police Week, let us show our thanks and appreciation to law enforcement officers across Canada for their relentless work to combat crime and protect our communities.
