What a year at Erasmusbytrain! In 2022, we continued to advocate for a more sustainable #Erasmusplus programme. Our idea is now well established in EU politics. How? More in the 🧵

After an eventful first half of the year, we’ve been working a lot behind the scenes… 🗓️

In June, we finally release our proposal for an #Erasmusticket in an event at the European Parliament - together with @ESN_Int. You can find our vision for a free Erasmus+ ticket for all students on our website erasmusbytrain.eu/erasmus-ticket/ (pictures 1-2: © EU 2022)

In May, @GereontP spoke on a panel at the event “Next Generation on Track” in the European Parliament 🇪🇺 in Brussels. He outlined what needs to happen for rail to become more attractive for young people 🛤️ (picture: © CER 2022)

In April, we also had an amazing erasmusbytrain weekend in Hamburg, Germany. Many of us met for the first time in person 🫂

In April, @CarlSchueppel represented Erasmusbytrain in a podcast episode of “The Common Room” from @EuropeanWaves. He shared our vision and explained what we do 💬

In February, @tatjanasoeding spoke at the closing ceremony of the European Year of Rail - the European Railway Summit in Paris. She shared our vision in a poignant speech 📣

It is not only about making #Erasmus greener, but also „more inclusive“, @sabineverheyen highlighted this very important point at the @ErasmusbyTrain discussion today. The #DiscoverEU efforts for inclusivity could be a role model here: erasmus-plus.ec.europa.eu/node/2667 #Erasmusbytrain

Made it on time🏃😊 Thank you @ErasmusbyTrain, @ESN_Int & @RenewEurope for the great discussion! Your initiative paves the way for a greener and more inclusive Erasmus program. Now it is also up to the @EU_Commission to support this important idea. Go for it!

Together with @ErasmusbyTrain and @ESN_Int, @laurencefarreng, @DominiqueRiquet and I have launched a pilot project to support #Erasmusplus participants with free train tickets. A great initiative for climate, education and sustainable transport #erasmusticket

💬 We had a chance to hear from #students themselves, who experienced travelling to their #mobility destinations by #train & shared both advantages & disadvantages of such #travel.

@juanrayong and our team member Johannes are now presenting our joint call for a sustainable #erasmusticket, a detailed proposal on how to make bus, train and ferry travel attractive for the @EUErasmusPlus generation
