Proof that basketball and day drinking is just as hard as winning a Super Bowl and running a marathon.

.@PatrickMahomes had a 20.5 strain on @whoop yesterday which is the equivalent of running a marathon or slightly harder for most people. Turns out going to the Super Bowl is hard work @bobbystroupe 😅

@Chris_NYY28 Hilarious that Kevin Abrams was leaking every bit of giants information for years and now the beat reporters have zero clue what this team is doing

I thought Cor’Dale Flott was the giants best corner this year, by a wide margin. Certainly limitations with him due to his size, but these are the type of guys you want to invest in. It also shouldn’t prevent them from adding another corner in the draft.
Connor Hughes@Connor_J_Hughes

Things are progressing between the #Giants and CB Cor'Dale Flott, per sources. Optimism there that something could get done soon. Flott has options, but #NYG want to keep the ascending CB.

@YankeesFanEarl Basically if a prospect isn’t an immediate superstar then you not trading him 3 years ago when these same people were calling him untouchable then you mishandled him

In 2023 the Yankees weren’t buyers and correctly called him up, in 2024 Jasson missed majority of the season, and in 2025 Jasson was significantly outplayed by the other outfielders on the Yankees roster. How exactly did the Yankees mishandle Jasson?

This is the new moronic talking point to hit Yankees Twitter.
Christian@Christian_NYYST

The #Yankees handling of Jasson Dominguez needs to be studied. He was brought up in September of 2023, a dead season and after starting hot he needed TJS. If he didn’t need TJS is he the LF in 2024 and they never acquire Alex Verdugo? It’s very possible but he did and then had an oblique injury and was a non factor in 2024. With Verdugo and Juan Soto gone in 2025 you would have thought an OF spot would be given to him even after the acquisition of Cody Bellinger but that was not the case. He didn’t get the Anthony Volpe treatment and the Yankees allowed Trent Grisham the opportunity to outplay Dominguez. The Yankees for two years have told you he needs to play more baseball and he became a bench player in 2025 and will be the 4th OF in 2026. They’ve already cast him as a guy that can’t play defense and can’t hit right handed. They nicknamed him “The Martian” because of his out of this world talent and now he’s been relegated to a bench role at just 22 years old. It is possible he becomes a starter in 2027 after Grisham departs but the club doesn’t feel Dominguez is a CF and is being the everyday CF really the best role for Cody Bellinger? Which also brings into question what are they doing with Spencer Jones, who is 24 years old. With everything I’ve discussed here, the Yankees should trade him and allow him a chance to play everyday somewhere while he still has some trade value and sign a guy like Harrison Bader who is more equipped at being a 4th OF type.

This whole thing feels similar to when the Yankees traded for Juan Soto and reporters were tweeting for like a full day about things that didn’t really matter to farm engagement until it was official. That being said if the giants fuck this up I’m going to freak out
Ian O'Connor@Ian_OConnor

Sounds like John Harbaugh & the Giants might take this deep into the night tonight, more likely tomorrow. Things are still OK. Hang in there. Still a lot to review in contract. John & Joe Schoen have gotten along. Can't see this unraveling. Both sides know way too much at stake.

@YankeesFanEarl I want this to happen but it would be objectively hilarious that the Yankees didn’t sign him in the first place because of Volpe and they just end up trading for the back half of his contract in exchange for Volpe

@YankeesFanEarl I think the FA misses rank for me 1. Seager 2. Harper 3. Machado Still think letting the Astros beat you out trading for Cole and verlander are the biggest mistakes of this era tho. Machado imo looks good now but idk if I agree with that given the team at that time

@YankeesFanEarl But it’s a “breath of fresh air” because 2 teams nobody cares about are in it! Not even gonna be dark for half the games and the first one is competing with Lions/Chiefs SNF lmao

This postseason sucks. Of the final 4 teams 3 play in domes and the other is in SoCal. No late October cold weather aura playing in NY, Philly, Boston, Chicago, Detroit or Cleveland. Possibly the worst MLB postseason ever.

@YankeesFanEarl Don’t think rice is a platoon bat in the future but they should lean into the platoons if they can get players to buy in. Get a RHH 4th OF, C, and platoon McMahon and caballero

I hate to say it but this feels like the downfall of the Yankees. The core is old as shit and all the young talent are busts. The 2 young guys who have shown some promise are platoon bats that can’t play defense. Don’t really see where we go from here.

@YankeesFanEarl I also think that even people who do acknowledge that these intangibles matter don’t emphasize how big of a difference they make. Like to them it’s some crazy statistical anomaly that Judge is horrid in the postseason instead of just admitting the pressure is probably too much

@EricBiolos FWIW the trade Judge stuff was always kind of rage bait anyway and I’m not anti analytics, I just don’t know how you can watch this team the last 8 years and not see that Judge has come up small most of the time when the lights get brightest

I don’t agree that they should’ve let judge walk but the discourse it’s started has outlined the issue with the way analytics are talked about. I’m an analytics guy but a lot of these accounts refuse to admit some things in sports can’t be quantified

@YankeesFanEarl 10-14 inning unwatchable ball game written all over it. Probably ends by Hamilton/narvaez bloop single and the Yankees having bases loaded in the bottom of the inning and can’t score

I didn’t like Joey Gallo because he sucked. I wanted Gary Sanchez off the team for like 3 years. Stephen Drew was a joke. Ellsbury was a waste of money. But Devin Williams is the first Yankee I genuinely hate
