Anthropic objected to the Department of Defense using its technology for domestic mass surveillance. I suspect other patriotic AI companies will have the same objection.
Americans should ask themselves, why does the DoD want to conduct domestic mass surveillance?

If we're talking about a 21st century civil war, we need to clear our minds of models like US Civil War or Spanish Civil war, massed armies fighting over territory. The model is North Ireland during the Troubles: police crackdown and intermittent terrorism.
