@manoj_dharani Specific lived details, not generic teasers. "Spent today fine-tuning Portugal IVA rates" beats "building a tax app" every time. Same word count, different reach. Plus replies in other people's threads. Own-feed posting alone hits a ceiling fast.

Indie hacker question: What's the dumbest mistake you've made while building in public? For me: overthinking every post and still posting at bad times 😂 Drop yours 👇 #buildinpublic #indiehacker

@stijnvwx Not yet. Launches 16 June. I've been running and improving it on my own phone daily for months

@EricLagarda Is it live already? Or still in the test phase? It’s great you’re using your own app

What it actually takes to ship an indie iOS app: 1) Build something you'd use yourself. 2) Launch before you feel ready. 3) Don't chase the download spikes. 4) Or spiral over the bad reviews. 5) Keep iterating until it works.

Sat down to check my numbers this weekend. VAT collected isn't income. Tax reserve isn't savings. My bank balance shows everything mixed together, and most days I have to stop and subtract before I know what's mine.

@BratDotAI Getting downloads. The layer before App Store search even matters is what kills you. Best ASO won't help if nobody knows the app exists. Pre-order live, 29 days to launch. 4 profile visits on X in the past 7 days. Funnel feels invisible.

What’s the most frustrating part of trying to grow an indie iOS app to real MRR? - Getting downloads - Converting to paid - Retention/churn - App Store visibility - Consistently shipping updates

@kt4_12 iOS app for EU freelancers, called Nett getnett.app. The point is showing you what you can actually spend after taxes, not just what you earned. Launching 16 June. This week I rebuilt the screen where you review a scanned invoice.

@EricLagarda Results don't come from repetition, they come from iteration. Keep it up!

Two things. The product tells you what you can actually spend after setting aside taxes. Most freelance finance apps show you what you earned, which is the number people overspend on. The other thing is some of those 11 were watching before pre-order went live. So it's a bit of both.

@EricLagarda i'm keeping an eye on the waitlist, 11 people are already interested in your launch, what's the selling point that's drawing them in?

@JacobSobolev Yeah, but the hook isn't the only thing. I've barely shown up in anyone else's threads this week. So nobody's even getting close enough to see the hook yet. What's been working for you?

@EricLagarda Impressions vs clicks is the classic problem. It means your hook isn't working, not that the reach is bad. Focus on making the profile visit irresistible.

Spent the last few days rebuilding the screen where you review a scanned invoice. The old version worked but felt like filling a form. The new one reads more like a receipt: amount, VAT, what's left for you.

@EricLagarda @X This seems really helpful for freelancers! Just a little feedback, your meta image says “now available in” maybe you could start with “Pre-order now” (until your launch)

@arthurdev17 Made the same pivot a while back but never warmed to Xcode. Most of my day is still in Cursor and Warp for IA. Xcode is just for the simulator, asset catalog, and signing.

The moment I knew the pivot was real: I caught myself closing VS Code… and opening Xcode first No announcement No big tweet Just quietly choosing the harder path 5 years of web muscle memory fighting me the whole way 🙃 Still here #Swift #iOSDev #BuildInPublic

@SauregurkeDEV Real. Half this week has been directory submissions, emails, and tweet replies. Code is the predictable part of solo dev. The distribution side keeps eating my hours.

the hardest part of solo dev isn't the code it's doing the building, the marketing, the support, and the positioning decisions all in the same afternoon and then starting over tomorrow #indiedev #buildinpublic #ios

Apple App Store ignores UTMs. To track which CTA drives pre-orders you need Apple's own params: pt + ct. They aggregate in App Store Connect → App Analytics → Sources. Wired it across getnett.app today. Hero, nav, pricing free vs premium, each blog post gets its own ct.

@EricLagarda Congrats on the App Store pre-order! 🚀 The 'Safe to Spend' AI logic without bank connections is a massive game-changer for freelancers. I'm with Sirex VC and we have a collab idea for your upcoming launch. Let’s connect

Today's Nett shipping log: - App Store pre-order finally live (5 days lost to a button I missed) - Submitted to Peerlist, it published instantly (no scheduling) - 36 days to public launch peerlist.io/ericlagarda/pr…
