refer to the PFF grades as even a starting point for the evaluation of DBs, LBs, RECs and QBs for at least a couple seasons. There are so many schematic nuances in Canadian football that differ from the American counter-part. You need to have been around the sport for years.

@JGasson_21 Honestly, I haven’t paid super close attention but it seems like scoring is down in Usports too. CanWest is usually filled with 50-47 games. Meanwhile this year I keep checking box scores and see QBs under 200 yards passing. Might just be a post-pandemic thing, Idk.

@EricM_CFL Thanks. I really tried to think beyond just some of the usual stuff we hear about. Fundamentally, the Canadian game works. Usports and CJFL games remain watchable to very good. So what's the difference? Those things, basically.

I say this from a place of love. The #CFL has an entertainment problem, one that I think has been bubbling for a few years and the missed season only made it much worse. The question is how do they fix it? It won't be easy. 3downnation.com/2021/10/26/the…

@JGasson_21 Buuuuuuut i have no doubt the league will resort to changing the rule book even more, allow even less contact on receivers, rather than fixing the root issues.

@JGasson_21 I think you’re right — there’s so many other places to look to make changes outside of the rule book. The offences scored more back when the rules were less restrictive for defenders. Now Ds can do much less, and offences are still struggling. It can’t be a rule book problem

@JGasson_21 Yeah, that was quite the take there lol. There's also just so many junior players from the PFC that went to Usports before CFL, which takes away the PFC's shine.

@EricM_CFL I don't know if it's true or not, PFC is definitely in the conversation either way. But to call it an unfair advantage for BC who have been average to bad for quite some time now is a choice.
