@YossiGoldstein8 Art. 25 didn’t take Transjordan out of the Mandate. It just exempted Mandate lands east of the Jordan River from the Mandate provisions related to the Jewish national home. Notwithstanding its administration by the Hashemites under the British, it wasn’t a separate Mandate.

Transjordan was carved out of the original Mandate for Palestine in 1921 by the British under Article 25. That doesn’t change the fact that it was originally part of Mandatory Palestine before being separated east of the Jordan River.
So no, pointing out that historical reality isn’t a “lie,” it’s literally the documented history.

IMO, thank them for providing the necessary information, say that you regret any misunderstanding wrt Israel’s legal process, and rest assured, Israel will not tolerate any attempt to sell stolen goods.

Ukraine has officially addressed Israel through diplomatic and legal channels, requesting action on the “PANORMITIS” vessel. The Prosecutor General’s Office of Ukraine has submitted a relevant request to the Israeli authorities based on a Ukrainian court ruling to arrest the vessel as part of the ongoing investigation. The vessel is suspected of carrying a grain cargo that was illegally transported from a closed port in the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine in violation of international law and Ukrainian legislation. This is not Twitter diplomacy, but a very concrete legal and diplomatic request for international legal assistance that necessitates a response. We expect the Israeli side to take it seriously rather than responding with emotional statements.

"Our director-general spoke with the Israel Tax Authority, which began an examination of the matter... The vessel has not entered the port and has yet to submit its documents. It is not possible to verify the truth of the Ukrainian claims regarding the forgery of the bill of lading. Up until this point, the Ukrainian government has not submitted a request for legal assistance. They submitted tweets. This [formal request] is required when the claims concern criminal acts committed abroad. Nor has the Ukrainian government provided evidence for its claims...Israeli authorities are obliged to act in accordance with the law. Legal discussions must be based on evidence..."
"We say again to our Ukrainian friends, if you have any evidence of threats, submit it through the appropriate channels."

@AdamKinzinger I support Ukraine and I support Israel. But if Ukraine isn't Israel's friend, why should Israel be Ukraine's? The issue of the wheat could've been handled with more finesse, but what has *actually* happened? Nothing yet- just (unfortunate) public sparring. Please don't prejudge.

You can support Ukraine against evil Russian aggression 100% but also recognize that Israel owes Ukraine nothing. Ukraine has voted against Israel at the UN—alongside its own enemy, Russia—hundreds of times. Why should Israel be a geopolitical sucker?

The truth: Israel votes with Russia at the UN, takes Putin's calls, and lets him launder stolen Ukrainian wheat through Haifa — while he arms the people trying to kill Israelis.
The truth is ugly, and Israel needs to account for this.
