Great perspective. Feeling like a ‘warm body’ and getting reassigned from room to room was disheartening as a resident, except when my attending could phrase and direct the education well - then it felt worthwhile

This thread 🧵 makes some great points. However, also worth considering IMO is how fellowship training can help protect docs from nurse/PA replacement, and increase non-clinical/leadership opportunities - esp in times of market/reimbursement volatility.

Do people really think the 200k cap on federal loans will force med schools to lower tuition? There’s no way. Students will have to take out more private loans. Better hope you or a family member have a good credit score.

It’s a turbulent job market with decreased private practices, increased locums jobs, and evolving staffing models. Some look for job stability and others like riding the spontaneous locums wave. I think @ASALifeline does a great job of catering to both mindsets!
