So @tesco Burnley has a shiny new refurbishment but there has been a dramatic reduction in the range of products available. Weekly shopping list staples no longer sold-have to do a top-up shop at Sainsbury’s. Despite new look store, the old, rusting, litter-strewn trolleys remain

Hero of the day. Tony Slater, who rummaged through discarded McDonald’s litter, found a receipt, contacted the local environmental health officer. Who contacted McD, who used CCTV to work out the car responsible. Result: £500 fine. 💥

@deirdrecostigan Lager Can, a voluntary sector group is draining the public purse and in return the streets in #Southall aren't clean and residents' council tax bills are going up by 4.99%. On the way to your office at the Dominion Centre, fly-tipping in Southall is everywhere.

@deirdrecostigan Like clockwork, Deirdre turns up for a photo op with Lager Can. Litter is the least of our problems in Southall. From 2020 to 2025 the voluntary group received £31,000 from Ealing Council for litter pickers, bags & Hi Viz jackets and have applied for a further £80,000. #Southall

Attended Golden Valley @kfc franchise's #GreatBritishSpring with 30 bags of litter. They keep a pretty clean #dutyofcare patch outside the perimeter with daily litter picks. We went further afield along the carriageway. 367 litter items from me, 3 KFC -branded. @CheltenhamBC

@SDoxat They are already obliged to under existing legislation, but it's not monitored or enforced. That's why we are advocating a revised code of practice that makes responsibilities crystal clear.

@EricTorrington Every business, educational or health facility, should be obliged to clear litter from their properties. Litter accumulates around football fields, and is even left on the fields.
