@AndrewLandSmith It’s actually both top down and bottom up. The people cry out to God AND God sends judges to save them. Because there is no king, there is anarchy.

@Eric_Conn I am reading through Judges with the fam for Family Worship, I think you need to re-read it... not against top-down change, but that's not the point of Judges and its not even close.

In Judges 6, the people rebelled against God and were given over to oppression. Part of that judgement was the removal of good rulers. When the people cried out, God answered by raising up Gideon, a ruler. The people repented AND God responded by giving top down change.

When Christian parents raise children poorly, it brings shame upon them. And rightly so. While many today deny that a parent’s behavior has any bearing on the outcome of a child, Scripture makes this clear: Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it. — Prov. 22:6

@Eric_Conn Yeah, lot of history to probably unpack here... just principle is just how we went from family's seeking to bless their kids when they wed with resources to them saddling them with debt and saying to the son , "welp, it's your problem now!"

We went from father's giving their daughters a dowry to bless their new starting household and his son in law to father's giving their daughters debt, cursing their household and expecting the son in law to find a way to deal with it. And folks blame the son in law for the state of affairs... Madness.

Father says his Christian faith is strong while allowing his daughter to be raised by a God-hating public school system.

@Eric_Conn “Alcohol gladdens the heart” sure but for me the cons far out weigh the pros especially when it comes to Test levels.

This is real. I think of it often. We are in a “more bricks, less straw” environment. Our community is full of men who hustle hard. We know the reality of inflationary nonsense (oppression). But. Proverbs also say that endless toil is folly. The wise man must figure out how to practice rest (4th commandment), enjoy life with the wife of his youth, etc. May God grant deliverance and favor, and may you and your tribe increase.

@Eric_Conn Some are lucky enough where they can pull back but a vast of amount of men do not have that option. They’re working as hard as possible to simple get bills paid and provide for their family.
