In the 1990s we experienced:
Peak Michael Jordan.
The rise of Tiger Woods.
Gas at 99 cents a gallon.
The golden age of Hip-Hop.
The rise of The Rock & Steve Austin.
The rise of Venus and Serena Williams.
A streak of classic Disney animated films.
Sitcoms: Seinfeld, Friends, Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.
Star Trek: "The Next Generation" and "Deep Space 9"
Peak SNES, and the arrival of Sony's first PlayStation.
Marvel Comics sold hundreds of thousands of books a month.
DC Comics' "The Death of Superman" became national news.
Rise of young comics including Dave Chappelle and Chris Rock.
Elite work from established Hollywood stars, breakouts of new stars and filmmakers, classic blockbuster films (and late night TV hosts who promoted the business instead of lecturing audiences).
Nostalgia for the 1990s is strong because excellence across multiple arenas in pop culture was obvious and undeniable, and this excellence enhanced our quality of life.
Fame had to be earned, we could enjoy things together, and algorithms had yet to atomize and divide us.
It was an amazing time to be alive.

Lol!!!
Dumbest kid in the world...
A young boy enters a barber shop, and the barber whispers to his customer, “This is the dumbest kid in the world. Watch while I prove it to you.”
The barber puts a dollar bill in one hand and two quarters in the other, then calls the boy over and asks, “Which do you want, son?”
The boy takes the quarters and leaves.
“What did I tell you?” said the barber. “That kid never learns!”
Later, when the customer leaves, he sees the same young boy coming out of the ice cream store.
“Hey, son! May I ask you a question? Why did you take the quarters instead of the dollar bill?”
The boy licked his cone and replied, “Because the day I take the dollar, the game is over!”

@Homtanks669 @9mmsmg Yeah bud, even when given scientific evidence you're still in denial lmao
English

I say this as someone who always wears his seat belt, adult seat belt laws are bullshit. Just another revenue generator for state. The funniest argument I heard in favor of them was that people flying through the windshield could fly into a pedestrian or another car and kill them.
If the reason for them is go prevent people from turning into road missiles and hurting others, then why are motorcycles legal? If it's to protect the person wearing them, why aren't you forced to wear them on a public transit bus? Why are you allowed to stand on a bus while it's moving?
They exist to make money and give an officer a chance to find probable cause to search your vehicle during a stop. Nothing more.

English

@Homtanks669 @9mmsmg I really don't think you do actually. Yeah... by saying there is no scientific evidence. He'll I'll even go as far as saying I live in the scientific evidence

@Eric_Lee_11 @9mmsmg You don’t know what anecdotal means and you’re saying I’m making shit up?
English

@Homtanks669 @9mmsmg It's as literal as it gets 🙄. You're just making shit up lol.
English

@Eric_Lee_11 @9mmsmg Ok Mr anecdotal, that’s why I said science.
English

@Homtanks669 @9mmsmg As someone who works in a level 1 trauma hospital and get MVCs all the time, the condition of patients of restrained vs unrestrained is astronomical MOST of the time. So nah lol
English

@FernSig01 @RarePullsGG @Thor_xddlol @Trevor_Majors @Simon_Ingari Nah not tricky at all. If im letting you know months in advance, it's your job (manager/supervisor) to manage the situation. If one more person being gone is detrimental to the department, then you were already short staffed to begin with. Also means you may have to lace up.
English

It sucks that it gets to that point. A lot of these situations stem from manager/associate relationships especially when none of the parties are willing to work together but against each other.
This is one of those situations where associate wants to stick it to the manager IMO. If the relationship is great, there are work around and willingness to work together for a resolution.
I don’t know if you can fire someone for something that hasn’t happened, you don’t have cause. Is the associate willing to potentially lose their job, maybe. It’s a tricky situation for both parties.
