These monkeys went to Charles River Laboratories, a notorious biomedical company that was convicted in the US for letting 32 monkeys bake alive. But Canada doesn't regulate or monitor animal research, so we have no idea what these monkeys will endure. nationalpost.com/news/politics/…

This “ban” on gestation crates was never enforceable, but merely a non-binding commitment. Pig farmers broke their promise because they know there are no legal consequences for this action. We need gov to step in & impose laws on this unregulated industry. forbes.com/sites/ericaten…

Did you know? Many popular coconut products are made with coconuts harvested using the cruel labour of monkeys. Monkeys are brutally ripped from the wild as babies, live on chains, and are forced to pick up to 1,000 coconuts a day 💔 bbc.com/news/business-…

Koala females don't avoid mating with their kin, which is becoming a problem as forest fragmentation prevents males from scoping out new territories away from their relatives. My latest for @forbes forbes.com/sites/ericaten…

“One individual kelp gull realized that it did not need to wait for a whale to die in order to eat its skin… then other gulls imitated the behavior and it spread to the whole population,” says Mariano Sironi. forbes.com/sites/ericaten…
