My Canes projected lines as of right now for Opening Night: Ehlers-Aho-Svechnikov Hall-Stankoven-Blake Martinook-Staal-Nadeau Carrier-Jankowski-Robinson I can see Carrier and Nadeau being swapped but that's it.

Thoughts on Tom Dunden, Carolina Hurricanes owner, having his entire family engraved on the cup while leaving off important PR people and a long time equipment trainer? Should NHL step in? He isn’t the first owner to do this.

Okay, one more… The NHL will announce 2026-27 opening night matchups next Wednesday, July 15, just before 8 p.m. ET. The full regular season schedule will be announced next Thursday, July 16, at 1 p.m. ET.

@emanningwrites Its tricky because the team has to replace that center depth role, preferebly with term, because the team doesn't really have anyone to promote quite yet. If it was a couple years ago I'd say to immediately jump on Henrique but he's at best a rental now.

...also (math caveat) bring Kotkaniemi's AAV down to around 3.6 mil--more than he's worth right now, but with a much more realistic probability of becoming a reasonable deal before the end of the contract, which might entice someone to roll the dice on a trade.

Saw a trade proposal out there involving 50% retention on Kotkaniemi's contract, and it got me thinking. The Canes would not retain 50%, because it would cost them more than the 1/3 buyout they already decided not to do. But would they do a 25% retention? I think they...

It's pretty funny to see some of the trade proposals for Nikishin out there. Fans of other teams are like: we'll give you 3 whole players and 2 firsts for him! Except the players are guys Rod Brind'Amour wouldn't trust to clean his gym equipment and the firsts are protected.

@AvsCanesFan Mostly running back but it took like fours days for Ehlers to make up his mind so expecting the same with Carlson. If he signs thats probably it besides some AHL depth, if not then the team will probably pivot to try and trade.
