Very frustrated the majority of the season happens before school. Numbers down for so many schools

@iowahstennis Progress for who? 2A? I can see that. It’s killing 1A tennis! If the goal is to make a bunch of 1A teams non-existent, the plan is working. If it is to make 1A less competitive, it’s working. Girls that are dual sporting are struggling and on the brink of giving up tennis.

The after dead week is rough. Other states play their first comp later in the first week, but I’m not sure if they have a dead week thing. In other words, maybe we should do what’s best for tennis, for tennis, and not cater to other sports though? 🙃

Newton’s Ethan Valtman has withdrawn from the Class 1A boys singles state tourney. He re-injured his wrist during the rehab process. Valtman is the Cardinals’ first state tennis qualifier in nearly 20 years.

I do think it's insane DOGE ultimately cut, nearly exclusively, the government's cheap, inredibly high ROI projects (foreign aid, NSF, CDC, etc.) while leaving literally everything that actually costs money untouched.
