Today, 3H is learning more about how to conference with a writer about their work. That’s something we’ve done all year! Today is different because we’re using the computer and the wonderful tools Google Docs has to help conference with other writers. They are doing well! #3HCC

3H is reading about “Rockbrain” and “Superflex” today as Mrs. Hagensick teaches her weekly counselor’s class. Rockbrain is trying to get kids to make bad choices. Superflex makes sure the kids make good choices! We love watching how Superflex makes good things happen! #3HCC

3H is talking about making good choices both in school and at home. Our amazing counselor, Mrs. Hagensick, is using a book to foster that discussion! #3HCC

3H is finding different rectangles and squares whose area is equal to 24 inches. Then we’re discovering what the area of those same shapes would be! #3HCC

3H is working on the area of shapes! Hands-on learning is so important!! #3HCC

3H is measuring in math. We’re trying to find the perimeter of objects in our classroom using either centimeters or inches. We are having a blast! #3HCC

These 3H students earned attendance awards for being in school every day/almost every day!! Way to go, 3H!! #3HCC

3H has had some incredible classrooms discussions about the book Stone Fox. Today’s discussion focused on the ending where the main character’s dog died unexpectedly. They were surprised and upset that the author would end the book like that. Good readers question authors! #3HCC

Mrs. LJ, the speech professional through AEA, comes often to teach in our class about communication and how to make it better. We also focused on body language today! #3HCC

We have been studying western expansion. 3H is now writing scripts in groups of two from the perspective of Native Americans whose tribes have been forced to move as people came west. These have been very powerful pieces! #3HCC

3H is working hard at finding facts about sled dog racing as we read the book Stone Fox as a class. We have had some amazing discussion groups about the novel, too! #3HCC

3H students are waving HI and reminding everyone to come to their concert at 7:00 pm tonight at Comet Gym! #3HCC

Mrs. Hagensick is reviewing Kelso’s Choice Wheels with 3H. Kelso’s Choice works with students regarding what they can do when they experience conflict. Here, two 3H students are discussing the choices on the wheel. “Talk It Out” and “Make a Deal” are two favorites in 3H. #3HCC

We work with math partners often in 3H. The conversation and collaboration are incredibly important. We’re problem solving again today and students can use any of several methods...whatever makes most sense to them. #3HCC

3H believes in recycling! Cody is washing out his ice cream bowl to recycle it in the blue bin in our classroom. #3HCC

3H earned their 20th Classroom Compliment a few days ago! We celebrated by having a social gathering today with board games and ice cream! (Sprinkles, too!!) We had a blast spending this time celebrating together! #3HCC
