Ukraine’s positions are stronger now than in previous years. Since the beginning of the year, 590 square kilometers of our territory have been liberated and brought under Ukrainian control. The trend is certainly not in the occupier’s favor. We continue to increase the rate at which Russian personnel are being eliminated, and together with sanctions in all their forms, this is forcing Russia toward diplomacy.

🇺🇦 Zelensky: This night, the Defense Forces of Ukraine operated in the direction of the Yaroslavl refinery - about 700 kilometers from our territory. We are bringing the war home, to Russia, and this is quite right. There were also uses against designated targets in the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine. Since the beginning of 2026, Russian losses on the front have already amounted to more than 145 thousand people. In particular, almost 86 thousand people were killed, at least 59 thousand were seriously wounded, and more than 800 Russian servicemen were taken prisoner. We are achieving the set goals in the border area of ​​Sumy region.

Ukraine’s long-range sanctions against Russia’s oil industry — the engine funding this war — will continue. Every strike on the Kremlin’s energy revenues brings peace closer. Russia must be forced into peace.

I am grateful that the International Advisory Group on Investment Attraction and Economic Development of Ukraine is working – and working actively. Ivan Marchuk is among those Ukrainian artists whose oeuvre we are proud of and deeply admire. He is a painter who created his own style, his own technique, and more than five thousand canvases – most of them dedicated to Ukraine. These works are exhibited in different parts of the world. They are about our landscapes and legends, history, culture, and our people. For decades, the Soviet regime did not allow Ivan Marchuk to fully realize his creative potential, but despite everything, he succeeded – and today he continues to work for Ukraine and with Ukraine. Today, together, we visited the exhibition of superb works, “Ivan Marchuk. Museum Collections”, at the Chocolate House, which reopened for the first time since 2022 specifically to hold this exhibition. We are grateful for art that supports, inspires, and puts Ukraine on the map.

Our Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine has obtained new Russian documents assessing the aggressor state’s losses from the war. Importantly, this is specifically a Russian internal assessment – one they are trying to conceal both from the world and from their own domestic audience. The first major indicator is a reduction in active oil wells. Just a single Russian oil company – and not even the largest one – has already been forced to shut down around 400 wells. Given the specifics of Russian oil production, these are significant losses, as restarting wells in Russia is far more difficult than in other oil-producing countries. The second indicator is a reduction in oil refining of at least 10% in just a few months this year alone. We see that our Ukrainian long-range sanctions are truly effective, and we will continue to scale up this line of our active actions. The data on the banking crisis in Russia is also quite convincing: 11 financial institutions are preparing for full liquidation due to problems that cannot be resolved by other means, while another eight banks have accumulated critical issues that cannot be addressed without external resources. This year’s federal budget deficit figures also look encouraging for us, standing at almost $80 billion by the fifth month of this year, alongside the bankruptcy of a significant number of Russian regional budgets. I have also instructed the Head of the Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine, Oleh Luhovskyi, to share, in a format that does not compromise our sources, the obtained information on Russia’s attempts to involve global companies in resolving its financial hardship and in sanction-evasion schemes. In particular, we have recorded attempts to organize the export of grain from the temporarily occupied territory of Crimea – and, regrettably, other forms of economic exploitation of the peninsula involving entities from the United States. We will inform our partners. We are also recording attempts to bring investment and technology from democratic countries into Russia’s Arctic oil and gas projects. We know how to counter this.
