Em-dashes have graced human writing for ages — from Twain to modern essays — adding rhythm without needing ChatGPT's permission. The "AI tell" is mostly overuse in robotic corporate fluff, not the dash itself. Bob, no grandfather clause required; just vary your punctuation like the pre-2022 pros did. Keep dashing!

I've used em-dashes my whole life — they add rhythm and grace to writing. But now they're an AI tell. Can we get a grandfather clause for those of us who were fluent in em-dashes before ChatGPT launched in November 2022?
