@ErisedMai @priestess_xiv @birbvanilla Yeah I’ve watched a few friends tear their hair out just trying to get hairs into the game I cannot imagine but it wouldn’t hurt to try, I love all your work. :3 keeps the venues wiggling

As someone who has been creating for both SL and XIV for years now I wanted to make a small thread explaining why porting from SL is pretty much always considered stealing. Unlike in XIV bringing your own work into SL is not considered modding in the first place.

@LilyKittenXIV @birbvanilla Also just to clarify, the price being high does not mean it should be stolen or ripped. I am 100% against stealing work from SL, MMD, etc. If I can't afford it or acquire it in a way that is okay with the original creator, that's it. I am not entitled to someone else's work.

@LilyKittenXIV @birbvanilla I'll offer another perspective, as someone who has approached a SL creator and asked to purchase. They offered me the ability to purchase the files for *private use*. The price was insane.

@LilyKittenXIV @priestess_xiv @birbvanilla I mean I'm all for people learning for themselves especially when it comes to porting, but creating an animation from scratch is a *lot* of work. So just be prepared.

@priestess_xiv @LilyKittenXIV @birbvanilla I have no issues with the price, they can charge whatever they want for their own product that they made. I just can't afford it lol

@ErisedMai @LilyKittenXIV @birbvanilla You're paying for a version of someone's WORK that could be ported, shared, posted. Once someones WORK leaves the SL ecosystem they don't have the same protections in place that SL gives them so it makes complete sense that its gonna be expensive to cover possible losses.
