Obama administration already acknowledged the problems afterwards. The structural sinking was definitely fixed. The algae stems from several things: -DC humid weather -Using Tidal Basin as the water source (untreated) instead of DC drinking water system -Shallowness of Pool -Duck and geese population Trump cannot fix the weather. If he got contractors to change the water source, that helps. No way he can prevent the ducks and geese from going to the Pool. Using industrial sealant is not that quite permanent either, supposedly lasts 5 to 10 years but it can vary based on product quality, UV exposure, and water chemistry. If it were pool maintenance, then it should be totally covered during the winter months. The NPS frequently drains the Pool during winter so they can check for leaks, deep cleanings, and conduct maintenance.

Not because of the budget difference. Obama administration went through the standard review process. Trump administration did a no-bid contract under an exemption used for emergencies. Trump boasted about knowing a pool guy that did his golf course last month. His story has now changed. He DOES NOT know the contracting company that is doing the work. Claims the Interior Dept found them, not him. In any case, it seems Trump quietly removed the banners.

@EricLDaugh WOW! MAGA BS. Yeah, Obama did a needed renovation and repair of the pool. Filters, pumps... that sort of thing as well as regular maintenance that is done every year. Trump's $13m (and climbing) "fix" will still have dirt, goose poop etc. by spring so you can blame Biden/Obama.
