@warper2509 Likely due to going full 3D. Not saying the 3D of this game is bad itself and in fact, it has one of the best 3D art direction seen for the PS2. It's just that the 2D sprite+ character portrait artistic direction of VP1 is one of it's selling point and it's dropped like that

@_SpyDtroid_ This one of those games back then that gave a big "wow" impression cause of its graphics, soundtrack and character/enemy animation, the the point people don't mind about the complex junction system or so-so writing.

Ufotable has revealed that art director Kazuo Ebisawa passed away on April 14. A funeral was held on April 20.
Works he contributed include Fate/Zero, Fate/Stay Night: UBW and HF, Kara no Kyoukai, Kimetsu no Yaiba, Tales of Zestiria and Berseria, God Eater, and many other works inside and outside of ufotable.

@_SpyDtroid_ The story is...Squall's own word in the game "Whatever" and the junction/GF system is needlessly convoluted. Outside of that, it has one of the best designed FF characters (Laguna FTW), sublime OST and features that legendary opening which to this day gives me goosebumps

O Final Fantasy VIII é aquele "filho do meio" incompreendido que, na verdade, estava muito à frente do seu tempo.
Enquanto o VII trouxe a revolução do 3D e o IX resgatou a fantasia clássica, o VIII apostou em um tom mais cinematográfico, realista e emocional.
Além de ser um bom jogo, ele trouxe cenas em CGI com qualidade absurda e um protagonista mais humano

And with this, I've finished the 7th Singularity: Absolute demonic front Babylonia BROTHER WHAT IN THE FUCK IS THIS GAME WHAT HAVE I JUST EXPERIENCED HOLY SHIT I was glazing Camelot so hard and saying it's by far my favorite singularity just for this to say "Nah I'd win" This singularity also had by far my favorite Final Boss so far and my favorite cast of characters Man I understand now what y'all meant everytime you guys said it gets better Camelot was peak, but this one??? This one is THE PEAK 😭🔥 I really loved it man, Im never gonna forget this beautiful experience
