Dear Young Person,
Not every business is meant to be your life’s work. Some businesses are simply vehicles to get you to the next level.
10 years ago, I was distributing Rams and Cows across Nigeria. Not because livestock was my passion, but because I needed startup capital to fund bigger ambitions.
I was never emotionally attached to the business. I understood the risks, the uncertainties, and the factors beyond my control, so I already had an exit strategy in mind.
A lot of young people fail because they become emotionally loyal to a business model instead of being loyal to growth.
Sometimes wisdom is knowing when to pivot, reinvent yourself, and move into industries with better opportunities.
Don’t confuse a stepping stone for your final destination.
