We saw lifers last night at the Southwark playhouse- such a powerful and excellently acted intimate play that will stay with me. Focused on the often sidelined & not spoken about area of our aging population in our prisons. What it is like to have a diagnosis of dementia or terminal cancer or reduced mobility & beyond whilst being in prison? So many themes captured & conveyed from system trauma to dignity to friendship & more. Painful lines around the systems & way people are treated that were said that really stick like “We have a duty of care; we do not have a duty to care.” Really recommend it & gorgeous to see it with the fab @nickyjanehill
