I can only emphasize it again and again: The reason for the urgency of the speech was to exempt Ethereum from the ethics provision going into effect that week that would have required all government employees to disclose their ETH holdings. Hinman's speech not only prevented that from happening, it also ensured that many politicians joined Ethereum afterwards, which is why people are still trying to cover it up.

The Hinman emails show that the @SECGov itself is totally confused on how to regulate crypto. It is incredibly dishonest for @GaryGensler to claim that the rules are clear when the rule makers themselves don't even agree on them. But it is downright evil for the SEC to bring lawsuits and try to destroy crypto companies under the false premise that the rules are clear when they know they are not.
