@BrianLaManna_ What split would you say you book self sourced meetings with, considering phone vs email ?

At Gong, 60-75% of my revenue each year is self-sourced. I've been a user of Outreach. Used Groove prior. Before, only an Outlook account. Now I use Gong. The platform doesn't matter. Sales engagement solutions help you stay organized but they don't create pipeline for you. Creating pipeline takes intentionality. The best SDRs get promoted to be Account Executives. And then most AEs don't want to face the truth. You need to keep the SDR mentality. As an AE, I don't want to be dependent on someone else (an SDR, partnerships, marketing, etc.) to find success. If reliant on someone else to find success, you'll never find consistency. Create a plan to blow past your number, that's fully within your control. The only way you can do that is by having TOO MUCH pipeline. 𝐂𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬: - Account Tiering / Account Research - Consistent Weekly Prospecting System - Sequencing NOT being the default strategy - Sequencing strategy - Emailing Framework - Perfecting Cold Call Pitches - Mastering Objection Handling - Multi-Channel - LinkedIn + VoiceMail Unfortunately, orgs run everyone through the same, generic 2 week onboarding. Then tell you to “go hit the phones” and generate pipeline. They are more focussed on activity metrics, rather than building up your skillset to systematically approach outbound. Shoutout to the orgs that don't preach that spray and pray.

@natolisnuggets Genuine question, do you think you can get to this point by remaining in an IC role? (Not factoring in any exits), or do you think VP leadership is a must to achieve this

@BrianLaManna_ I love the approach btw, but I primarily use it with inbounds. Would love to get a good grip on how to leverage it outbound for top accounts

@BrianLaManna_ How don't you make this come off as a bribe to take the meeting?

Just booked one of my top Tier 1s with a hyper personalized gift and a cold call to follow up. Adrenaline rush is hitting good.

Have to think McCarthy will be moved around the draft. Very interesting
Ian Rapoport@RapSheet

The #Vikings are adding QB depth, signing Carson Wentz to a 1-year deal, per The Insiders. Despite significant injury last year, Wentz started five games and kept the team alive. Now, back with JJ McCarthy and Kyler Murray.

@Rob_Shenanigans I don't care for berry, but you're nuts if you think he wasn't a great value considering a 5th rounder

After 4 long years stuck in neutral, the Jerome Ford experiment in Cleveland is finally over. Another failed Andy Berry draft pick.
Ian Rapoport@RapSheet

The #Commanders have agreed to terms with former #Browns RB Jerome Ford, per me and @MikeGarafolo, giving him a 1-year deal. He leaves Cleveland after four seasons.

Lot of (young) sales rep cope in the comments Let’s not lie to ourselves like the general job market is kind to the late 40s 50s sales reps - ask any veteran, the job market value diminishes slowly overtime and drops off cliff in late 40s Especially in software sales. It is highly irresponsible to not have a long term game plan for your career
FIDEL CACHE FLOW@FidelCacheFlow

Software Sales, and sales in general will always be a “young mans” game After a decade or two of quota carrying experience it’s most natural to evolve into leadership, consulting & ownership The “ideal” career pathway, imo 20-30s: Individual Contributor 30-40s: Leadership 40-60s: Ownership/Consulting
