Salbutamol for transient tachypnoea of the #newborn? An RCT of 90 infants found statically significant improvement in RR, oxygen indices and #TTN clinical score with single dose of 2.5mg salbutamol. Be interested to see how this develops qxmd.com/r/38687321

Breaking news! This morning after 6 weeks (and counting) of M1 misery with average speed cameras 😂 and 1 lane out for 15 miles in both directions- at last I saw 4 people staring into a hole of their own making. #productive @BBCBreaking @BBCLookEast

Shout out to the med student this week who thought ALS stood for American Life Support, and BLS was British Life Support. Honestly you can't even be mad at that.

Vehicle checked and out responding today covering Sheffield and Rotherham critical care. Lots and lots of office/project work the last few weeks so it’s nice to get out for some fresh air! We’ve got HART and SPCC jobs out right now in #TeamYAS - why not check them out?

I’m livid at whoever made the decision to cut the #M1Bedfordshire to 3 lanes in both directions. Not a worker to be seen and it’s causing utter travel chaos 😡

@M69_LJX @Sparksgreenwood I've personally used it a handful of times due to moving to another trust. I don't mind then. Deffo lighter but the separate printer and usually left in Ambo makes me feel a little uneasy at times but otherwise loads lighter. The noises are easy to turn off but hard to explain

NIAS Integrated Clinical Hub is currently recruiting temporary posts as EOI. The team is being rebranded and restructured to improve overall provision to the service. Now under the guidance of the clinical directorate it’s really moving in a positive and exciting direction.

Unique ambulance crew skill: knowing exactly where you are on the approach to hospital (whilst in the back) by the combination of potholes / roundabouts / turns etc. Ie for my local ED it’s a roundabout, 10 potholes (bone shakers), another 2 roundabouts, a left turn and a bump.

Perhaps one of the lesser-known roles in our control rooms, are our fantastic emergency clinical advice and triage clinicians. We’ve spoken to Lisa, a paramedic currently helping to triage patients over the phone. #ControlRoomWeek

@ParaAndy90 Occurs and always had good outcomes in management of pain. Surprising how many don't realise that jrcalc states 10mg as initial dose % some still argue but then I point out we don't give any other medications in part doses of what jrcalc states so why morphine..no response 🤣 2/2

@ParaAndy90 During my time as a emt worming with paramedics as well as during my training, I was told 2.5mg or 5mg doses only and more if needed. Sometimes even 1mg each time. JRCalc states 10mg initial dose so when qualified I've always given 10mg unless adverse reaction 1/2

This poster totally changed my practice. I was a 2.5mg at a time kinda guy because that's what everyone does, right? Changed to slow full dose and what a difference it makes to patients pain, along with IV paracetamol 👌 Had a patient with 8-9/10 pain and once at hospital, 2/10

A great poster by the team @FHEMS_ARU showing the gaps in pain Mx in Paramedic practice. Slow full doses of Morphine have always worked so much better in my practice in comparison to “titration” of smaller doses. #ParaCon23 @ParamedicsUK
