I took time to read Simbarashe's post on Facebook carefully and I appreciate what he wrote. Let me try to clarify a few things respectfully. First, the title "Mukuru we Mazuva" was not something I gave myself. It was given to me by the vatendi ku Masowe. In everything I do I give thanks and praise to the Almighty God. Whenever church vehicles worth many millions of USD are handed over, you have never seen me go on stage and claim credit. Ndinotya Mwari the glory is not mine; mbiri ndeya Baba kudenga. Everything I do is in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Our church founder, Johanne Masowe, was called Mukuru we Mazuva because he did miraculous things in his time. When we meet we greet each other as “Madzibaba” and we say we are all children of Baba Johane. If you meet me and say “makadii Baba Johane,” you won’t leave without a little gift maybe USD 100 for lunch because you showed me respect. Long ago they jailed him, put leg irons on him in solitary, yet he would be outside the main gate the next morning singing hosana, saying he was sent by Baba to teach black people to worship. His life was a wonder to our people. Those miracles were phenomenal done in the love of God through a faithful follower, not as a prophet or messenger in the same sense. To give you examples: I can arrive at Masowe on a Friday and find ten men standing there all blessed that day each with a Fortuner worth about USD 10,000, and twenty women (picked randomly) getting an Aqua each plus USD 2,000. At Christmas I once gave USD 490,000 in cash, plus each family USD 300 and two hampers. Our church leader no longer needs parking at home; on his wife’s birthday I gave her USD 1 million. Children have been sent to universities overseas and many still receive support like housing every month the list goes on. All this was done by a child of another person someone you have no family ties with. My close friends at Masowe my inner circle call themselves “Ma Die-Force.” They told me, “No, you are our Baba Johane, our Mukuru we Mazuva; you were sent to us and you suffer for us.” The love our believers have shown in the history of the church is something we have never seen before. This can only be the power of Almighty God working through you and manifesting in our church. That’s how the name started. Some even say you are our Baba Abraham, the father of black people. I bought 40 buses at USD 240,000 each, and by the end of the year I’ll make sure there are 100 yet you never see my face or name on those buses. We put the face of the Mutumwa to honor him and the faith. I could have written “Donated by Sir Wicknell” and plastered my pictures all over the buses, or written my name on my two private jets, but I always point back to Johanne Akatumwa. I live to pray and serve today, tomorrow, Marondera… Yes, I put WMC 777 on one plane 777 for the glory, the angels that sit at the right hand of the Father in Heaven.
