An important step.
Some important next steps:
* Helios (or alternatives) being integrated into user wallets, on mobile and desktop
* L2 configs moving onchain (first step: github.com/ethereum/ERCs/… )
* L2 configs including specification of state proof verification rules (a possible starting point: eips.ethereum.org/EIPS/eip-3668 )
Once those three are done, we get universal L1 and L2 light client verification!

@dcinvestor If I did not believe in ETH as SOV I would not hold ∼90% of my net worth in it.

seemingly no matter what, Vitalik and most core devs will literally never talk about ETH as a store of value or as a meaningful programmable money, and this has been true since inception, and i think is tied into public comments on DeFi, etc.
they treat ETH’s moneyness (and value in DeFi) like an incidental emergent thing which they all know is the case, yet they feel is too gauche or too risky (from pre-SEC-commodity days) to talk about publicly. and that includes ETH as a meaningful store of value in DeFi. yet there are many, many billions in TVL for this use
it’s always been this way, YET it is super obvious that ETH must be a desirable SoV in order for Ethereum to operate securely in PoS
but bros believe me when i say “opinions” don’t matter in the slightest. the network is operated by Stakers now, and they’re not doing to run code which destroys the value of ETH (and their stake). they’re going to run code which promotes it (and censorship-resistant DeFi)
Ethereum users love DeFi, and so do ETH holders and Stakers
literally everything else is just noise
