"Most scientists believe Covid came from nature" was always a completely fabricated media talking point. There was never any evidence for it. I don't just mean there was never any evidence the virus came from nature. There wasn't. I also mean there was never any evidence that "most scientists" believed it did. That claim was simply asserted over and over until it became accepted as fact. Now the newly released Slack messages have exposed the central irony. The scientists at the heart of the fake natural origin narrative privately expressed views that contradicted what they were saying publicly. Yet the media spent years presenting the "scientific consensus" as settled fact. And it hasn't stopped. The latest example is that Economist propagandist claiming that unnamed "people in Africa" told her DOGE killed Africans. Anonymous anecdotes are treated as hard evidence whenever they support the preferred narrative. Everything is so dumbed down that it's kind of astonishing that anything still functions at all.
