On a more serious note, the fact that AAMC was surprised by this news shows how severely disconnected the organization is. The issues that led to this (data hoarding, outdated software, exorbitant costs) have been known for years, and any improvements made were insufficient.

Most of SEA's founders are M3s now, meaning that those of us who apply to OB/Gyn residencies will be among the very first people to use the new, non-ERAS system. Seems fitting.

This is your reminder that the #MCAT was specifically developed to keep "undesirable populations" from overwhelming medical school matriculant numbers. Such a test could "only be passed" by those who “should” become physicians, and would weed out the "undesirables."
